Swiss Post International

Swiss Post International is a Group unit of Swiss Post and was established in 1996. Turnover has grown steadily since it was founded, and exceeded the one billion mark for the first time in 2006. Swiss Post International has always generated a profit.

Swiss Post International is represented in the form of subsidiaries, distribution partners and joint ventures in 11 European countries, five Asian cities and the USA. Around half of its 1,300 plus employees are based in Switzerland. This is also where most of the turnover is generated.

Independent measurements show that in 2009, Swiss Post International was yet again one of Europe's fastest postal companies. Priority letters mailed from Europe to Switzerland took an average of 2.0 days to reach their destination, with letters from Switzerland to Europe taking an average of 2.1 days.

Strategy

Through Swiss Post International, Swiss Post operates its core business plus value-added services at a cross-border level. Swiss Post International additionally handles the import and export of mail consignments, thus also reinforcing the domestic market. The aim is for profitable growth abroad to strengthen the Group as a whole.

Swiss Post International intends to maintain its leading position in the Swiss market with new products and outstanding quality. In the international courier, express and parcels market, Swiss Post International works jointly with partners to give its customers access to a global distribution network. Swiss Post International is currently represented in the principal mail markets through its subsidiaries, sales agents and franchise partners. In the cross-border letter market, Swiss Post International intends to grow further in these countries.

Services

Swiss Post International offers business customers in Switzerland and abroad bulk mailing services for letters, publications and small goods such as books, CDs and wine.  It develops tailor-made services for individual sectors such as mail order and finance. For private customers in Switzerland, Swiss Post International handles the carriage of letters and parcels into and out of the country.
