PostBus
Punctuality, reliability and scheduled timetables can be exportedIn 2000, PostBus won a WTO tender for bus routes in the Principality of Liechtenstein and has since operated a bus network there with a modern fleet partially powered by natural gas.
In 2003, PostBus won a contract to operate the urban bus network in Dole, France. Routes and networks were added in Bourg-en-Bresse, Haguenau, Mâcon, Agde and Villefrance-sur-Saône. PostBus also operates regional transport routes in the departments of Hérault and Isère and maintains a branch in Narbonne. PostBus successfully defended its position as operator of the regional bus network in Dole in 2009 for the first time, and was again awarded the franchise.
PostBus currently operates eight bus networks in France via its local subsidiaries.
In early 2007, PostBus won an award from the Franco-Swiss Chamber of Commerce CFSCI for implementing a Swiss success story in a French market within short timescales (Prix implantation suisse en France).
Strategy
PostBus views itself as a focused supplier abroad, where values such as reliability and efficiency mean that Switzerland’s high-quality public transport is held in high esteem. Its presence is currently limited to France and Liechtenstein, with business opportunities in other countries being monitored on an ongoing basis.
Services
PostBus services abroad include urban bus networks, regional transport routes, standby and shuttle buses, school buses and contracted services as well as a comprehensive transport management system – from vehicle procurement and maintenance through to network marketing. Its international activities are restricted to niche markets. PostBus currently employs around 530 employees abroad.
