Letter-processing centres

Swiss Post has three catchment areas for letter processing: western, central and eastern. Each area has its own ultra-modern letter-processing centre, ensuring that mail is delivered to our customers promptly and reliably.

Every day Swiss Post processes 15 million letters, newspapers and promotional items. This is made possible by a network of modern letter centres, their geographical locations ensuring that letters are processed efficiently and with a high degree of quality assurance.

The three main letter centres are located in Eclépens, Härkingen and Zurich-Mülligen. Mail is transported by road within regions, and by rail between regions. The letter centres are supported by six regional logistics centres for detailed sorting, and two centres for returns processing and videocoding.
