Environmentally friendly transport

Swiss Post's modern vehicle fleet

Swiss Post is constantly modernizing its vehicle fleet to reduce environmental pollution. It is using increasing numbers of gas, hybrid and electric vehicles.

We are monitoring the development of new drive technologies with great interest, and participating in pilot projects. We regularly introduce new vehicles and, under scientific supervision, test them to ascertain how economical and environmentally friendly they are.

Swiss Post operates Europe's largest fleet of electric scooters. Our fleet of vehicles powered by natural gas is the largest in Switzerland. Natural-gas engines emit only small quantities of harmful ozone-generating pollutants.

Sustainable fleet management

We replace our vehicles regularly for environmental and financial reasons. Thanks to innovative, cost-cutting drive systems, our ultra-modern fleet is becoming more and more environmentally friendly.

When we purchase vehicles, we attach great importance to environmental sustainability and the latest engine and exhaust emission control technology (European exhaust emission standard EEV or the Euro 5 standard). Increasing numbers of Swiss Post vehicles and Postbuses are fitted with soot particle filters.

Postbus alternatives

Postbus mobility solutions are having a positive impact on the entire Swiss transport system – a single Postbus carrying 40 passengers replaces up to 40 car journeys.
