Dealing with waste

Swiss Post follows its own strategy for separating, recycling and disposing of waste. As far as possible, all waste goes into the recycling process.

We sort the waste into different types, and send these to be recycled, from paper and metal through to electrical waste. Swiss Post is also launching new projects for dealing with waste.

Reusing cardboard, plastic film and pallets

Parcel centres and other distribution centres collect cardboard, stretch film and disposable pallets, and send them to recycling companies. Stretch film is also reused wherever possible, some of it as film. To save resources, Swiss Post has reduced the strength of the stretch film it uses.
