Weight and dimensions: standard parcel or bulky goods?

Standard parcel dimensions

Manual processing

Although certain parcels have the dimensions of a standard parcel they have characteristics that excludes them from automatic sorting:

  • unusual dimensions
  • unsuitable packaging material
  • special shapes

These items must be processed manually and incur a surcharge.

Bulky goods

Bulky goods include parcels that deviate from the standard in terms of dimensions and weight or items that are not packaged.

  • Items that exceed the maximum dimensions for standard parcels (length more than 100 cm or two dimensions more than 60 cm)
  • Items with a bag tag
  • Unpackaged items
