«pro clima»-Shipment

The energy required to sort and transport letters, parcels and goods produces CO₂ emissions. The «pro clima» carbon-neutral mailing option enables postal customers to offset those emissions by paying a small surcharge. Swiss Post invests every contribution in selected climate protection projects. As of 1 April 2012 Swiss Post will send all domestic letters carbon neutrally, and it will bear itself the «pro clima» surcharges for offsetting CO₂.

All carbon-neutral letters, parcels and goods carry a «pro clima» label. A growing number of businesses and private individuals are choosing to project this positive, climate-friendly message. And without having to deal with any admin either: business and private customers only pay a surcharge of a few centimes per item. Swiss Post leads by example and also uses «pro clima» for its own mail.
