The project
An investment of 80 million Swiss francs
Following the introduction of the REMA project to modernize mail processing, the Montbrillant Postal Centre in Geneva, built in 1984, has concentrated its activities on a single floor, leaving a vast amount of office space unoccupied. To redevelop this site, which is ideally located, for postal business and staff access, within easy reach of Cornavin Station in the centre of Geneva, Swiss Post is investing CHF 80 million.
Long-term leasing of areas no longer needed for postal business.
The almost 20,000 m2 of office space no longer occupied by Swiss Post will be leased long term to third parties: the Cantonal Employment Office (OCE) and the Cantonal Social Insurance Office. At present, 650 Swiss Post employees work at the site. From 2012, it will accommodate an additional 800 workers.
